Five things Australia gets right for international students.
Globally recognised degrees, post-study work rights, and a quality of life that consistently ranks among the world's best. Western Australia included.
Five reasons to study in Australia
Globally recognised qualifications
Seven Australian universities rank in the QS World University Rankings top 100. Every institution is regulated by TEQSA, Australia's national quality assurance framework, ensuring standards that employers and institutions worldwide recognise.
An Australian degree travels well.
More choice than almost anywhere
1,100+ institutions. 20,000+ programmes. From 10-week English language courses to doctoral research, vocational training to executive education. Australia offers a pathway for every ambition, every level, every budget.
Work while you study, and after
Australia encourages international students to gain real work experience, and many graduates can stay and work full-time after they finish their course on a Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485).
Typical post-study work rights (subclass 485: Post-Higher Education Work stream)
| Qualification completed in Australia | Typical 485 visa length* |
|---|---|
| Bachelor degree (including honours) | Up to 2 years |
| Master degree (coursework or extended) | Up to 2 years in most cases |
| Master degree (research) | Up to 3 years |
| Doctoral degree (PhD) | Up to 3 to 4 years, depending on current policy settings |
Vocational graduates and important notes
For graduates with eligible diplomas, associate degrees or trade qualifications linked to an occupation on the skilled list, the Post-Vocational Education Work stream of the 485 visa can allow up to 18 months of post-study stay (longer in limited cases for certain passport holders).
*Actual duration depends on the 485 stream, your qualification level, when you apply, and any changes introduced under the government's migration strategy. Some nationalities and regional study may have different arrangements.
A lifestyle that's hard to beat
The 2025 EIU Global Liveability Index placed three Australian cities in the world's top 10. Melbourne fourth. Sydney sixth. Adelaide ninth. The factors assessed: stability, healthcare, culture, education, and infrastructure. Australia performs well across all of them.
Affordable compared to the alternatives
Australia offers competitive tuition fees across its education sector. From $15,000 a year for undergraduate programmes and from $6,500 a year for VET courses. Perth and regional cities offer a lower cost of living than Australia's east coast capitals. The combination makes a meaningful difference over a two to four year degree.
The Golden State of Education
Why Perth.
Perth is Western Australia's capital and Blue Education's home base. It is also one of the most underrated study destinations in Australia: home to globally ranked universities, a thriving job market across mining, technology, healthcare, and education, and a liveability ranking that consistently places it among the world's top 15 cities.
| Cost of living | Lower than Sydney and Melbourne |
| Class sizes | Smaller, more personal attention |
| Safety | Lower crime rate than most eastern capitals |
| Job market | Mining, technology, healthcare, education |
| Climate | Year-round sunshine |
| Blue Education HQ | On-ground support and local expertise |
